Did you Know?

Did you know... ...that the average person walks the equivalent of four and a half times around the earth in their lifetime?

These boots are made for walking. And that's just what they'll do.

Custom Orthotics

What are orthotics? Orthotics are specialized supports that are worn with your existing footwear. Many doctors prescribe orthotics to treat existing problems with the feet, although they can also be prescribed to prevent the development of foot problems.

Orthotics can be functional or accomodative. Functional devices are prescribed to control the function of the foot in a precise way to alleviate problems with the feet or to prevent problems from occuring. Accomodative orthotics are prescribed for many of the same reasons as functional orthotics, but also to increase cushioning to the foot and to eliminate pressure points caused by deformities or skin conditions.

Why do I need orthotics?
The most common reason for prescribing orthotics is to alleviate foot pain. Many people assume that aching feet are an unavoidable result of long hours on the job or just part of the natural aging process. This is not true! Foot pain is not normal and should never be ignored! Slight imbalances in the foot that are not noticable under normal circumstances can cause crippling pain in individuals who must stand or walk for extended periods or for athletes. If ignored, these problems can multiply over time, resulting in further pain and disability which can effect the feet, knees, hips and back. Properly fitted orthotics are very effective in addressing and correcting foot stress caused by injury, deformity and fatigue.
